blog hop and giveaway: quilt album!

hey there! i've been asked by Pat Sloan to try out the Quilt Album software.
i told her i'm a ninny with software and asked her if the dumbest of the dumbest in figuring out software could figure it out...she laughed (i think she thinks i was kidding but just ask the husband i ain't kidding!) and she said "it's simple to use! give it a go and see what you think!"

so i have. and because i've only scratched the surface on it...i'll let you know of the things it CAN do and show you the one thing i DID do on it. and btw yeah it's pretty easy even this nincompoop figured it out.
yesterday rachel of PS i quilt showed you how the quilt album helped her create her pattern cover. someday i'll be as cool as rachel and launch my patterns into paper patterns. but for now i let her be the coolest, cause she is. :)
what i did with the program was print out all the stats of my favorite quilt. i'm going to try to do this for all my quilts so that i can keep together all the pictures measurements, dates of when i made it, the quilter who quilted it, and for who i made it for. notice if you will in my picture above that in my "made for:" section i wrote ME. cause i'm done having my own babies...but i still love baby quilts the most. i'm funny that way.

and dude, you can make pattern covers (like rachel) and get this you can make cards, and business cards as well!
it's good stuff. give it a shot!

okay so i've been asked to answer a few fun questions so you can get to know me a little more:

what one item do you really want to add to your studio and why?
organizing units form ikea. i want one big wall of organizing so i can organize all my fabric in colors and stare at them. :)

what color would you paint your living room if you had to do it right now?
um, white. yeah i said it. maybe a tannish white that you can hardly tell its tan...or a mccloud white blue like my bedroom.
i'm not a huge fan of color on walls, i went big and painted the boys' rooms gray, which i love but i struggled with it...i like things to look crisp and clean, and i like to feel peace whenever i sit in a room and to me less color more monochromatic helps me feel that. quite a different change from what i was doing when i was younger...but as life moves on, i think peace and simplicity helps me feel best. wow...loaded answer just about paint! ha!

i have no filter sometimes...so i ask my husband to read my "personal" posts any time i can...and if he rolls his eyes i know it's okay, if he laughs i know it's great, and if he says "you are so NOT going to write that are you?" i have to check double check for myself and think about talking to someone face to face while reading it...i've been known to delete posts about things like pap smears, and other things that i wont mention. but they WERE funny. just so you know.

yup it's a hard life being the monkey of two women. but after one month in the country and the smothering love of two christenson women...this monkey is one super loved, and super loving monkey.

but it doesn't stop him from the occasional harley ride. just to keep up the appearances that he's still a tough guy.

so on top of being the sock monkey lady...she's also a pretty awesome creator of these aprons.

things i'm crushing on: lisa leonard design

lisa leonard design has a look all will admit is timeless and beautiful. i've written how much i love her necklaces on several occasions. last year i wrote how i wanted one for my birthday. well i can now say that i own several of her necklaces and i love them so much that i like to also share them with special people in my life.

last month was kind of... what can i say, hectic. many friends came to my aid by many means. but one friend came through in multiple occasions. this friend has in the past year become more of a sister type friend than a friend friend. and to her i say "thank you." thank you for taking me for the good and bad, thank you for listening to me when i have nothing to say, and everything to say.
and to her i give her the sweet and simple birdie necklace.

so there's nothing like having your daughter want to play with the things you make. you remember the cake and the turkey made out of fabric i made? well this little one all of a sudden has a new found love with the kitchen in her room.
along with the love of play cooking she loves her aprons. some that i've made, but most recently an apron that we got from the gals of flirtyaprons.com. these gals asked me if i wanted to try out an apron from their site. i said sure, but i had katie pick one out that she wanted to wear. this is the one she picked. it's called the very cherry apron. and she loves it. i think she looks adorable in it.
they say imitation is the best form of flattery...um hmmm apparently i need to spend a little less time on phone like devices...and apparently i need to quit talking AT phone like devices.
okay well. moving on, also this apron is great when she's taking care of her baby. and may i add that she's got all major important food groups taken care of. you've got the grains, protein, and uuuh whip cream?...DAIRY!! also probably learned from the art of imitation.

so i'm a lip gloss kind of girl.
these gals must of known this when they sent me their new line of lip glosses.
i read their story on why they got started...
i immediately went to go check out my lip gloss.
the word on the side of it...
"SEXY"
hmmm.
okay
well, huh.

see my daughter is only 3 now but what am i going to do when she's wanting to buy lip gloss or even worse have me buy something with a message i don't necessarily want her to be tapping into till her wedding night? (or if her father had it his way: till she's in her mid 30's and has had 4 kids with the man of his dreams for her...)

i guess all my pissing and moaning about wanting the aqua ware worked in YOUR favor. cause the super nice people at csn mattresses (sister site to the cookware site) were like "dude if you promise to shut up we'll give you something to giveaway." i was like
